The Community invests more than 231,000 euros to renovate infrastructure in Jumilla (09/03/2018)

The Community invests more than 231,000 euros to renovate infrastructure in Jumilla through the Works and Services Plan of 2017. The Minister of Finance and Public Administration, Andrés Carrillo, visited today the actions of the three projects that are in progress and amounting to 283,842 euros, of which 231,594 are assumed by the Community and 52,248 euros by the City Council.

"The great novelty is that this year 2018 we have given the Plan a biennial character, so that the councils can undertake more ambitious and larger-scale projects," said the counselor.

In this way, "we seek to improve the infrastructure and basic facilities of the municipalities."

The counselor stressed that in the 2018/2019 biennium, the Works and Services Plan, which will reach 41 municipalities in the region of less than 50,000 inhabitants, has 463,188 euros for various initiatives in Jumilla.

Also, the Works and Services Plan of 2017 that is being executed in the town includes three infrastructure renovation projects in Goya Street, between Pintor Antonio Mañas and Camino de los Franceses, worth 57,971 euros, of which 49,721 euros the Community contributes;

in Calle Fueros and Valencia, between Avenida de Levante and Reyes Católicos Avenue, for an amount of 95,729 euros, with a contribution of 81,244 euros from the Community;

and on Avenida del Casón, between Ronda de Poniente and Nuestra Señora de la Asunción Avenue, which amounts to 130,141 euros and finances the Community with 100,628 euros.

The Minister of Finance and Public Administration stressed that these actions to improve the road network "are aimed at increasing the quality of life of its inhabitants, renewing, expanding and adapting to the needs of the population existing infrastructure."

It includes street lighting, roadway improvement, pavements and pavement, installation of urban furniture, and renovation of supply and sanitation networks.

In this way, he indicated, "the Community collaborates so that the municipalities can carry out projects that without this support would be very difficult to carry out".

"With these investments in the municipalities of the Region, which benefit more than 550,000 inhabitants, we collaborate so that the municipalities can allocate that amount to other initiatives, which demonstrates the municipal character of this Government," said Carrillo.

The Works and Services Plan includes more than 7.8 million euros, of which 6 are borne by the Community.

Among the main actions include works such as improvement in streets and sidewalks, renovation of public lighting, works in parks, replacement of services and works in municipal facilities.

Office of the Tax Agency

The counselor also visited the office of the Tax Agency that the Community has in Jumilla by virtue of the collaboration agreement signed with the City Council.

In this way, the Tax Agency of the Region of Murcia offers services to citizens related to the tax management and collection of the IBI, the vehicle tax and the IAE (Tax on Economic Activities), among others.

In addition, it also performs the executive collection of all the economic rights of the City Council, the processing of State Taxes assigned to the Community and the management of the tax on the increase in the value of land of an urban nature (municipal surplus value).

"Thanks to this agreement, citizens can adhere to the Personalized Payment Plan offered by the Tax Agency," said the counselor, "and which consists of payment in 12 installments without interest of the set of receipts." A very useful service and demanded by the citizens. "
