The proposal of IU is to relocate the associations of public buildings to make room for young people or the creation of a center (from other public buildings) to accommodate the activities that are developed from the youth Jumilla.
The motion has not been approved and two days later we have learned through the website of the City Council that the Government Team is going to enable premises for young people in the House of Culture and the lower market supplies.
Izquierda Unida has been surprised by the news because on the one hand a motion has been presented that the same Government Team has rejected and then carried out in a totally improvised manner and in buildings that are not for that purpose.
The proposal of IU-Green is not utopian or impossible to perform if you put some effort and we also have a municipal ordinance for the use of public premises in which says that the City is required to facilitate and promote the participation of their neighbors and management entities, encourage associative life and guarantee solidarity and balance among the different population centers.
Therefore, relegating young people to the background offering them the crumbs of public spaces that already have a specific use means not taking into account the needs of the youth collective.
There have been several occasions in which the Government Team has rejected proposals of the opposition and then carry them out alone, in an improvised manner and hanging the medal of good management.
From IU we will continue to demand a space for young people from Jumilla to develop their activities and concerns and in which the participation of all young people is promoted.
