Jumilla re-teaches its "cradle of artists" through the Young Art Awards (03/02/2018)

Last night, the Young Art Awards corresponding to the 2017 call were handed out at the Roque Baños Cultural Center. A total of 17 works were recognized in the modalities of plastic arts, music, photography and literature.

The Councilor for Youth, Juan Manuel Garcia, stressed in his speech that "Jumilla has an incredible cradle of artists."

He also indicated that: "You never have to stop fighting for dreams, knowing that without sacrifice and without sweat nothing is done".

The award ceremony was presented by the journalist Irene Santos, while a component of each of the juries established for each modality referred to the papers presented.

In the modalities of photography and plastic arts, the jury was composed of Alberto Esparza, Eduardo M. Gea and Eleuterio Zaragoza.

The photography awards in category A (from 14 to 21 years old) were distributed in this order between María Romero, Raquel Martínez and Cristian Pérez, while in category B (22 to 35 years) the images of Antonio Martínez, Javier were recognized. Pérez and Pascual Tomás.

There were special mentions for the photographs of José Luis Martínez and Leire Navarro.

In plastic arts the awards went to Laura Abellán, Ana Gilar and Carmen Molina (category A).

The jury of the literature modality was composed by Ana María Olivares, Juan José Lajara and Magdalena Jiménez.

The first prize went to María Pilar Pérez for her work 'Defender lo nuestro';

Roberto Pérez took the second with 'La banda de marfil', while the third was for Judith Pérez with 'Los crimes del Río Támesis'.

In music, the works were evaluated by Alejandro García, Juan Diego Gómez and Andrés Martínez.

The victory went to Murilo Martins de Souza, ahead of the Mindmakers group formed by Cristina García, Diego Pérez and Juan Gil, while the third was for Ronaldo Wladimir Córdova.

In all the categories and modalities the first classified took 140 euros, the second 80 and third 30 euros, distributing a total of 1,250 euros.

The works can be seen in an exhibition in the Department of Youth, in Plaza del Rey Don Pedro. The literature can be downloaded from the municipal website.
