The mayor transmits to the Minister of Health the main needs of Jumilla in the area (24/01/2018)

The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, met yesterday in Murcia with the Minister of Health, Manuel Villegas, in the presence of the Councilor for Public Health, Lucía Jiménez, the general director of Health Assistance, Roque Martínez, and the managing director of the Service Murciano de Salud, Asensio López.

Being the first meeting with the new Minister of Health, the mayor has reported the procedures followed since the beginning of the current term in order to build an Integrated High Resolution Center (CIAR) in Jumilla.

Juana Guardiola has shown her intention to cede the site so that it can be done.

"At this moment we are waiting to receive the mandatory reports from the Ministry of Environment and as soon as they arrive we will continue, without any delay, with the necessary procedures." We believe this is a priority, given the regrettable state of the current center and the need to a new one for many years now, and we have also been assured that the location of the UME and adequate space for Mental Health is contemplated in the project of this building ".

The mayor and the Councilor for Public Health have once again requested that the Children's Health Center be provided with a pediatrician and another nurse, which has indicated that Jumilla is within the appropriate ratio and that only Yecla is above of the average of the Region of Murcia, "but doctors have their place in a municipality and if they voluntarily do not want to, they can not be changed".

Once again, the mayor has put on the table the reopening of the 4th District pharmacy.

Juana Guardiola pointed out "that it is another vindication of many years, that I already dealt with the previous counselor and even when it was announced that they were going to create 10 more offices, I asked her in writing (March 7, 2017), that this was one of them On this matter, the director has assured that they have planned it, although they do not know when it may be.

Juana Guardiola and Lucía Jiménez have also raised other issues such as the afternoon hours of the Health Center or holiday substitutions for professionals.
