The Civil Guard denounces five people for the illegal hunting of females and offspring of wild boar (10/11/2017)

The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has developed the operation 'RAYÓN', an investigation that has been settled with the identification and complaint of five people, in Jumilla, as alleged authors of two violations of Law 7/2003, of 12 November , of Fishing and Fishing Fluvial of the Region of Murcia.

They are attributed alleged irregularities in the practice of the hunting sport of hunting, for downing a female boar and 13 baby boar scratches that followed the mother and who died after the attack of the hunting dogs that accompanied the investigated.

The investigation began when specialists of the Service of Protection of the Nature of the Civil Guard (SEPRONA), had knowledge of some supposed irregularities, happened in a day of hunting developed in a boundary of the municipal term of Jumilla, in which they had participated several people.

Thanks to the collaboration of citizens, the Civil Guards found out that, on the Internet and in a forum devoted to hunting, a photograph had been published showing an individual next to the bodies of several boars, 13 of their offspring and five partridges. .

The hunting law applicable to the Region of Murcia establishes, among others, the prohibition of hunting of "boar female followed by young".

The prohibition is based on the fact that the death of the mother, who feeds and trains her offspring for their development and emancipation, endangers their survival.

The steps taken to clarify the facts have identified five people, one of whom appeared in the photograph published on the Internet, allegedly related to the death of the female wild boar, with a hunting weapon, and the of the scratches that, apparently, died as a result of the wounds caused by the hunting dogs that accompanied them.

The operation 'RAYÓN' has culminated with the denunciation of five people as presumed authors of alleged infractions Law 7/2003, Hunting in the Region of Murcia, for killing a female boar and 13 offspring of that species.

The result of the investigation has been brought to the attention of the Environmental Prosecutor of the Region of Murcia, in case the event could constitute a criminal offense.

The denunciations have been processed to the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment of the Region of Murcia.
