Presented at Jumilla, the XXX National Encounter of Brotherhoods to be held from September 21 to 24 (06/09/2017)

The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, and the president of the Central Board of Brotherhoods of Holy Week, Juan Francisco Martinez, presented yesterday the XXX National Encounter of Brotherhoods to be held from September 21 to 24 in the municipality.

They were accompanied by the Councilor for Culture and Festivities, Pilar Martínez, as well as Cayetano Herrero and Elisa Martínez, members of the board of directors of the JCHSS, who debuted all the details of the event.

The XXX National Encounter of Confraternities has a budget that exceeds 115,000 euros, 75,000 of which come through the City Council, which has established for this purpose an agreement.

The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, highlighted the great effort that has been made, "to live some intense days where in Jumilla is going to breathe Holy Week and will be an important promotion of all the treasures we treasure."

A complete program of events has been prepared, the most outstanding being the extraordinary procession 'La Pasión en Jumilla', in which the 20 brotherhoods and brotherhoods of Jumillans will participate, being the first time that they participate together.

In total, 24 steps, consisting of 43 images.

It will be the act of greater participation with more than 1,000 Nazarenes, who on September 23 will offer a plastic catechesis in the streets.

All steps will be accompanied by a band or musical group.

Exhibitions

For the occasion, three exhibitions have been organized, one entitled "The Light of the Gestures", in the Ethnographic Museum, which will collect oils and watercolors by Bartolomé Medina, from 8 to 30 September.

In addition, every day of the meeting, the hall of the Teatro Vico will host the photographic exhibition "Arma Christi".

The most important of them is entitled "Imago Passionis", in the Museum of Wine, which will show how the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Christ together with the liturgy of Holy Week take shape and are shaped by piety and devotion of the people of Jumilla.

In it you can admire a sample of Jumillan figures and images.

In total more than 200 pieces to be able to admire until the end of October.

Several extraordinary publications are being produced to commemorate this 30th National Meeting.

One of them is about 'The Brotherhoods and Hermandades Jumillanas', there will be another cultural notebook on 'The Sermons of San Vicente', a book of the meeting and another book of the procession.

Of these publications will be edited 1000 copies.

As for the inscriptions, to date are 294 people who have confirmed their presence.

83 are from Jumilla and the rest from up to 25 different provinces.

The figures double those of the Meeting of the last year 2016, being the deadline still open until the 10 of September.

All of them will enjoy round tables, colloquiums, as well as sightseeing and activities in the locality, prepared also thinking about the companions.
