Acevin reinforces its commitment to sustainability in the International Year of Sustainable Tourism (07/06/2017)

The Spanish Association of Wine Cities (ACEVIN) celebrated last weekend its annual meeting in Cambados, which this year was chosen European city of wine.

Jumilla, who currently holds the treasury in the board of directors of the association, was represented by the mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, Councilor for Agriculture, Economy and Employment, Juan Gil and the head of the area of Tourism and Employment of the City Council, Ángel Pérez .

Taking advantage of the UN declaration of 2017 as the International Year of Sustainable Tourism, the XXIII Assembly of ACEVIN has agreed to reinforce its commitment to sustainability, strengthening aspects that have always governed its activity and that of Wine Routes in Spain, Such as promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth;

The efficient use of resources, environmental protection and the fight against climate change;

Social inclusion, job creation and poverty reduction;

Or the integration of cultural, diversity and heritage resources and values.

There was a positive balance of the different actions that have been implemented during the last months and which have been supported by the state administration in projects such as the International Promotion Plan developed with Turespaña, with which different tour operators and media Communication from different countries have had the opportunity to meet and visit one of the star products of the Association, the Wine Routes of Spain.

We have also analyzed the results obtained so far with other actions such as the National Promotion Plan through digital marketing campaigns and social networks, the Program of Collaboration with Agencies Homologated for the marketing of the wine product through the web www. Wineroutesofspain, or the reissue and improvement of the promotional media. All this has allowed the market to continue to recognize the quality of the Rutas del Vino de España product, generating a banner that has not stopped growing year after year, and which regards this product as a Consolidated value.

Quality has been one of the key issues addressed in this Assembly, in relation to the Quality System and Certification of the Wine Routes of Spain.

The Product Manual, which establishes the qualitative standards of these routes and has made it possible to place this enotouristic product as a reference in the country, is being renewed to improve it and adapt it to the new needs of the demand. And the image of ACEVIN and Wine Routes of Spain with the aim of improving the positioning in the tourist market.

The mayor, Juana Guardiola, has also highlighted "the work that ACEVIN is doing with the Ministry of Education to achieve the regulation of a vocational training of wine tourism."
