Presented at the Casino de Murcia the book 'El Castillo de Jumilla: History of a sentinel' Emiliano Hernández, one of the authors, referred to the new research carried out by the authors (15/11/2016)

Last night was presented in the Real Casino of Murcia the book 'El Castillo de Jumilla: History of a Sentinel', whose authors are Emiliano Hernández Carrión and Jose Luis Simón García.

The book is an arduous work, as well as the updating of all the knowledge to date, new research by the authors, such as the location of new structures associated with the closing wall of the citadel , Or the location of the main access door to it, as well as the tower that was destroyed by lightning in the 18th century.

The initiative of the presentation was of the delegation of Murcia of the Spanish Association of Friends of the Castles and the same one was in charge of Emiliano Hernández Carrión, director of the Municipal Museum Jerónimo Molina de Jumilla and Municipal Archaeologist.

In the act was also present the Councilor for Culture of the City of Jumilla, Pilar Martinez.

Hernández spoke about the construction stages of the Castle and the historical events in which this building has played a leading role, reaching the present time, as the book includes a chapter on the different restorations that have been made in it.

"The book was published with the help of the Leader Funds and an edition of a few copies has been made. It contains an enormous amount of information and some of the loons that circulate around Jumilla Castle Which was the French troops that set him on fire, when it is not true, "said Emiliano Hernández.
