IU-Greens requested reports on the cleaning contract and garden maintenance (18/10/2016)

Through a motion, the Municipal Group United Left-Greens request at the next regular plenary conducting several reports.

Among the requests included the audit of the details on variations of the surface area of the contract, as well as a list of tasks to distinguish the hours devoted to the maintenance of those dedicated to cleaning.

They indicate that these measures can make a better economic forecast cost of service, saving money and better align the technical specifications of such contracts.

They point out that in the current contract, the City is paying for the cleaning and maintenance of grassed areas of nearly 1000 square meters, when really in those areas there is no vegetation whatsoever.

From IU-Green explained that with this information intended to get a better assessment of what it costs to clean certain surfaces.

In addition, the price for cleaning a zone is not the same as lawn maintenance parts.

also they believe that if the total areas have changed, the contract should be reviewed.

They say that there is a problem include cleaning and maintenance of the same contract, as currently there are different collective labor agreements for this competition.

also add that the same specialization for maintenance cleaning is required.

They hope that the motion is approved and to provide early reports, to avoid an extension of the existing contract and which can be distinguished in contracts between maintenance and cleaning, plus adjust to the reality of the surfaces with which they work.

From IU-Greens reaffirm their idea against privatization, and wish that this may be the first step to return to public management of this service.

Confident that the government team access to carry out these measures, and serve to study in a real way the possibility of starting the redistricting of the contract, once aware of possible deficiencies and unjustified expenditure that currently runs along the City Council.

Finally, they trust that the gardens of Jumilla, which have been highly valued and appreciated for their quality, charm, maintenance and species richness again have the splendor of the past with the cooperation and work of all involved.
