Jumilla improves its recycling figures in almost all types of waste (13/05/2016)

On 17 May Recycles Day is celebrated and from the Department of Environment take the opportunity to remind citizens of the importance of separating waste at source, then treat them according to current regulations and achieve efficient management.

To this end, the municipality has a number of green dots, equipped with selective containers and a Municipal Ecoparque for the management and storage of waste that pose greater difficulty in recycling.

In fact, although there is still greater awareness, jumillanos continue to improve their recycling figures in almost all types of waste.

In 2015 the number of tons that citizens separated into their proper places was higher than in 2014 in all cases, except in batteries.

323.63 tons of paper and cardboard that exceed 294.57 last year were recycled.

The same applies to the glass, with the 2015 figure of 340.92 while in 2014 was 315,50.

Last year almost 80 tons of light packaging were collected, having been selected in the previous less than 64. It has also been improved in clothing rising from 52.78 to 68.36, this being the type where the increase is more significant.

The used cooking oil is also a noticeable increase in the number of recycling liters, 2,830 liters in 2015 and 2,740 in the previous year.

Batteries, on the other hand, correctly separated jumillanos 310 kilos, while in 2014 had reached 390 kilos.
