The Roque Baños Cultural Center was evicted by a fire in the kitchen of the cafeteria, which has been put down by the CEIS Firefighters, assisted by the Local Police of Jumilla, Civil Protection and Civil Guard.
The rapid action of the janitor when following the protocols, as well as the proper functioning of the building's fire-fighting system, has been key to preventing the spread of the fire.
There have been no personal injuries, although the 061 has treated some people by smoke inhalation and by prevention.
The mayor of Jumilla, as well as several councilors of the local government and technicians of the City Council, were present while the work of the different security bodies was carried out.
Juana Guardiola said: "Fortunately there is no need to complain about personal injuries and now it is about recovering the normality of the building as soon as possible.
At the moment, it will remain closed until all the damage is evaluated and the perfect and safe functioning of the facilities is verified ".
