The socialist Juana Guardiola has been named this morning mayor of Jumilla for the 2019-23 term.
It will be the second consecutive one in which he will govern in the municipality, this time with an absolute majority.
The act of taking possession of the new corporation was celebrated in a packed plenary hall.
In the first place, the 21 elected councilors have sworn or promised their positions, prior to the vote that appointed Juana Guardiola as local councilor by 11 votes.
The newly appointed mayor of Jumilla has highlighted in his speech that welcomes the position "with even more excitement and responsibility than four years ago" and has promised that it will be again "the mayor of all Jumillano, we can not disappoint."
He has had words of farewell to outgoing councilors and recalled what was said by the mayor and spokespersons of the inauguration of the first democratic corporation 40 years ago.
On the other hand, the spokesman of the PSOE, Juan Gil, has assured "the commitment of this Government with every corner of the municipality", highlighting the responsibility, enthusiasm and desire for this new stage.
The spokesperson of the PP, Seve Gonzalez, has opted for a legislature "of consensus, in which we will make a real opposition, giving voice to the Jumillans."
The spokesman for Citizens, Ginés Pedro Toral, has advocated "for dialogue and work together."
It pretends to be "the speaker of the Jumillans through a firm and constructive opposition".
The distribution of the corporation 2019-23 is presided, therefore, by Juana Guardiola, who will be accompanied in the Government by Juan Gil Mira, María Pilar Martínez Monreal, Francisco González González, María Belén López Lozano, José Luis Monreal Tomás, Isabel López Abellán, José Antonio Jiménez Hammond, María Dolores Gómez María, Alfonso Pulido Grima and María Isabel Quílez Pérez, all of them from the PSOE municipal group.
For the group of the PP will be Severa González González, María del Carmen Cruz Vicente, Aitor Jiménez Poveda, Francisca Tomás Abellán, Juan Lozoya Muñoz, Asunción Navarro Miralles, Ramón Poveda López, Luisa Tomás Hernández and José Gómez Ortega.
