The eighth edition of the test 10 kilometers and 6.1 kilometers Ciudad de Jumilla will again have solidarity character.
This year the benefits will go to the Dravet Syndrome Foundation, which organizes the test in collaboration with the City of Jumilla and the Athletic Club.
Yesterday the race was presented at a press conference by the councilor of Sports in office, Juan Manuel García, accompanied by Juana María Olivares, mother of the young Jumillano Israel, affected by Dravet syndrome, as well as by Pedro José Jiménez, representing Athletic Club.
It will be held on Saturday, July 20 at 8.30 pm with departure and finish at the Paseo Lorenzo Guardiola and the usual circuit, totally urban, through the center of the city.
Participants can register for 12 euros on the website www.intercrono.es.
In order to raise funds, there will also be a solidary bib at the price of 3 euros, as well as merchandising sales during the test.
As explained in the presentation, the career of Jumilla, becomes part of the Dravet Challenge, which seeks to "give social visibility to the Dravet Syndrome, developing the necessary and sufficient conditions to advance a better understanding of the disease, as well as a better significant impact on the living conditions of those affected ".
The Dravet syndrome, also known as severe epilepsy-thrombotic syndrome of childhood or polymorphous epilepsy, is a childhood degenerative encephalopathy.
Children with Dravet syndrome often have poor language and motor skills, hyperactivity, and difficulty interacting with other children.
