The City will present in the 2019 edition of the International Tourism Fair of Madrid, which is held this week, 'Jumilla, wine ... and museums'.

The appointment will be on Wednesday at 16.00 in the Pavilion of the Region of Murcia with the presence of the mayor, Juana Guardiola.

The objective is to show that Jumilla, in addition to wine tourism reference at national level, has a historical and cultural heritage of great relevance through a wide range of museums that offer a journey through time in different areas, through different private museums , municipal museums and the future Wine Interpretation Center.

The Ethnography and Nature Sciences section of the Jerónimo Molina Municipal Museum has been installed for half a century in the Plaza de la Constitución.

It offers a collection of unique entomology in Spain, donated by Francisco González, where 1,500 lepidoptera and coleoptera from all over the world are exhibited, of a sum made up of more than 7,000 specimens.

Another star reference in this space is the presence of the best fossil record of Tertiary ichnites from around the world, traces printed 6 million years ago, the oldest in Europe.

They emphasize, within an excellent ethnographic sample, the widest and better conserved collections of the Region on esparto and of apothecary, with jars and furniture from century XVI.

The section of Archeology, located in the Palace of the Council, collects exceptional pieces from the Iberian site of Coimbra, among which stands out the funerary sculpture of the Stele pillar of the Riders, or the mosaic of the Roman villa of The Cypresses, which majestically covers one of the plants.

The obligatory stop is, as it will be shown in the presentation, the Wine Museum of Hacienda del Carche-Casa de la Ermita, inaugurated in 2018. It offers 1,500 square meters with more than a thousand pieces of several centuries of antiquity and a tour for the history that, chronologically, collects each and every one of the tasks and works related to the vine and the wine, field and land, vintage, entry of the grape in the cellar, cooperage works, going through the conservation and laboratory.

The Museum of the Royal Brotherhood of Jesus Nazareno is presented as a necessary visit for art lovers and religious brotherhood, which can be admired through its sample of sumptuary architecture and imagery, as well as other decorative arts such as lanterns, banners, embroidery, cloaks, jewelry, metalwork and metalwork.

Fitur 2019 will also know the collection of the Saorín Painting Museum, on Calle Marchante, composed of an anthological selection of 17 works, five of them large, by the hyper-realistic Jumillano painter Jesús Lozano Saorín;

as well as the Franciscan Museum of Santa Ana del Monte, with a wide variety of curious objects, from the strangest donations to authentic works of art, paintings of the sixteenth century of the School of Juan de Juanes, highlighting the collection of rosaries, crucifixes or the image of the Christ carved by Francisco Salzillo.
