The Government closes 2018 with a City Council without debt and a multitude of projects in progress (29/12/2018)

The City of Jumilla has left zero all loans with financial institutions, after repaying the debt of just over 3,300,000 euros that counted, which shows the good economic management that has been done.

The year 2018 also ends with a multitude of ongoing projects, some of them in their final stages and others that will see the light during the next 2019, "which will make the majority of everything programmed for the current legislature", has highlighted the mayor, Juana Guardiola.

A basic pillar in the last twelve months has been the investment in the repair of streets through the Asphalt Plan, which has improved 15 roads, the Works and Services Plan that has renovated the streets of Valencia, Fueros, Goya and El Casón, as well as integral rehabilitations of different landscaped areas such as the squares of San Juan, Manuel Azaña or Arsenal, which is in the process of becoming the first natural kindergarten in the Region.

One of the most important works has been the remodeling of Avenida de la Libertad, which has been adapted to the times and needs of its residents, enabling several playgrounds for children, biosaludables and rest.

To this will be added the integral reform of the Plaza del Camionero, scheduled for the coming months.

Likewise, a new tourist trail has been built that links the Subidor to the Castle, the lighting of the Cerro del Castillo Industrial Estate and the El Alpicoz Social Center has been solved, the water collector and sidewalks of Juan Ramón Street have been renovated Jimenez and shortly will begin the rehabilitation of the recreational areas of Santa Ana, as well as the cover of the Blue Building and the renewal of the asphalting of the patio and the entrance of the Market of Supplies.

More than 700,000 euros in grants

The local government has granted more than 700,000 euros this year in grants between those directly allocated in the Budget and those of competitive competition that are gradually implemented.

More than 250,000 euros have been allocated to social assistance, 135,000 to education and 130,000 to sports clubs.

"This year has been bet again for Social Services with special attention to the most vulnerable groups, increasing by almost 100,000 euros the total investment in the area with respect to the previous year, standing at 1,554,907 euros," indicates the highest authority local.

On the other hand, close to a hundred temporary jobs have been generated through the 17 active work exchanges, the Youth Guarantee System, the Local Employment Plan and the Social Employment Program.

Jumilla ends 2018 being the third municipality of the Region that allocates the largest amount in proportion to its budget to international cooperation projects and NGOs with 20,000 euros.

New Olympic Pool

Strengthening local commerce and agglutinate the sector
