This Wednesday, December 26, the Vico Theater will host a Christmas concert that can be seen in the programming of any great theater, not only in the Region but also in the rest of the country.
A varied program that will not miss the traditional Christmas carols that will be voiced by the Discantus Choir of Murcia and the award-winning soprano Paloma Friedhoff, known in Jumilla for other performances with the Julián Santos Lyric Company and the UCAM Symphony.
The Jumillan singer Isabel Mª García will put the flamenco touch with the popular Andalusian villancico "Pasan los Campanilleros", and the very young Murcian violinist, Enrique Ruiz, will delight with one of the most difficult works of the violinist repertoire, "Aires gitanos" by Pablo Sarasate, and all this accompanied by the Symphonic Orchestra of the UCAM, directed on this occasion by the Jumillano Salvador Pérez.
The concert will begin with the play "Christmas Festival" by Leroy Anderson and will continue with a block of popular Christmas carols by Julián Santos and the "Vals Serenade" from the Jazz Suite No. 2 of the Russian composer Shostakovich.
Paloma Friedhoff will solo perform "Cantique de Nöel" by Adolf Admas and "The First Nöel", and will sing for the first time a villancico-plegaria by Julián Santos, "Purísima Virgen" and a work by the English composer John Rutter "The Lord Bless" accompanied by the Coral Discantus.
Two waltzes by Aram Kacahturian and Julián Santos will be heard, and the finale to this magical concert will be a block of traditional Christmas carols.
