City Council and festive groups present the official poster of the 2018 Fair (30/07/2018)

The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, accompanied by the councilors of Celebrations, Sports and Public Safety, Pilar Martinez, Juan Manuel García and Eugenio Aguado, as well as representatives of festive groups, have presented today in the Plaza del Rey Don Pedro the poster official of the Fair and Festivities 2018. They have been present, Francisco Javier Vázquez, president of the Federation of Peñas de la Fiesta de la Vendimia, Claudio Gil, president of the Association of Moors and Christians Don Pedro I, and Basi Pérez, of the director of the Brotherhood of the Virgin of the Assumption, patron saint of Jumilla.

The poster has been made by the local company Pictocactus and the profile of a Jumillana woman is the protagonist, inside which you can find silhouettes representing the festivities of Jumilla, as well as the image of the Castle, emblem of the city.

In the lower part are the logos of the City of Jumilla next to the different festive groups.

It has also been used as the cover of the festival program, which can be found in digital version on the municipal website and in printed version in different parts of the town: Tourism Office, City Hall, Roque Baños Center and museums.

Likewise, the program has been remembered for concerts and prepared musicals, whose tickets can be purchased in advance online through the platform of www.globalentradas.com and in person at Cafetería DF, Café París and Pizzeria Millenium.

The mayor has described the Fair and Festivities of Jumilla as "unique for its great variety" and has praised "the great work and previous effort to prepare them carried out by the collectives in coordination with the City."

The Councilor of Celebrations has indicated that "this year it has wanted to give greater prominence to the fireworks castle that ends the festivities with a contest through social networks of the Department of Culture and Celebrations and Pyrotechnics Murciana that will reward a citizen with the possibility of activating it on Sunday, August 19. It will be held from the La Hoya Municipal Sports Center for security reasons and will have the so-called 'Palm of Wishes'.

For its part, the Councilor for Sports, Juan Manuel García, recalled the extensive program of Sports that has the week of Fair and Fiestas, highlighting as benchmark, the Cross Wine Festival, which turns 40 years and is celebrates as usual on the morning of August 15.

With the exception of this test, participation in the rest of the tournaments is free.
