The new Olympic Pool hosts swimming courses this summer with more than 500 participants (19/07/2018)

More than half a thousand Jumillans are participating in the swimming courses that are being carried out in the new Olympic Pool of La Hoya Sports Center, launched this summer.

Five shifts have been established, three of children between 5 and 14 years old and another two for young people and adults with different modalities.

They are being held in the morning in periods of two weeks each, with completion scheduled for August 8.

There are still places available for the third shift.

On the other hand, the Jumilla Triathlon returns to the Olympic Pool, which will again make its 750 meter swim sleeve on August 5, giving it the test that it entails.

Likewise, the Jumilla Fiesta Swimming Tournament is being restored, which this year reaches its twentieth edition and will be held on Thursday, August 16, according to Sports Councilor Juan Manuel García.

The new Olympic pool was presented on June 27 and is one of the few facilities in the Region of Murcia of its characteristics.

The pool has a length of 50 meters long by 21 meters wide and a total of eight streets, with a maximum depth of 2.20 meters and a capacity of about 2,100 cubic meters of water.

With state-of-the-art machinery, it is also prepared for the bathing of people with reduced mobility, since it has an elevator.

The City of Jumilla has invested more than 430,000 euros to rebuild it after the serious structural problems presented by the previous one.
